ACTING PF faction president Given Lubinda has told the UPND to take responsibility for the damage caused by UPND cadres at the PF secretariat, saying it happened while state security officers were present.
Lubinda said that although police officers have been around the building, they have failed to stop the violence or protect PF property.
He said the party has now started listing everything that was destroyed and will take action if the damage is not repaired.
According to him, the chaos at the secretariat is part of a bigger plan to weaken the PF ahead of the 2026 elections.
“As we move towards the 2026 elections, threats and violence have been instigated so as to scare us from actively participating in the activities running upto August 2026,” he said.
Despite the tension, Lubinda said the secretariat is still open and running, and the party will not be pushed out of its offices or silenced.
“If government ignores the damage left behind, the PF will take its own steps and seek accountability. If they don’t repair it then they must be ready for what follows,” he warned.
He also revealed that the party’s legal team has challenged the ex parte order linked to Robert Chabinga, which he believes has been used to create confusion in the party.
“The new contempt proceedings have already been filed against individuals who have falsely presented themselves as party leaders,” stated Lubinda.
