The training will take place at Chiboko in Katete, Chishimba Camp in Kasama, and a third, unnamed location in Kitwe.

This decentralised approach is a key part of the government’s plan to accommodate the 1,092 recruits, which includes 624 males and 468 females.

Ministry permanent secretary Maambo Haamaundu stated yesterday that the selection of these locations is intended to make the programme accessible to candidates from all corners of Zambia.

The programme, which is slated to begin on September 1, 2025, will involve compulsory military training along with programmes in agriculture and national values.

Recruits will first undergo medical examinations on August 25, 2025, to finalise their selection.
