AFTER being declared dead by Emmanuel Mwamba and his PF aligned comrades, Francis Kapwepwe infamously known as Why Me has been resurrected from “death” by Zambian authorities to answer to criminal charges stemming from his misconduct on the cyberspace.

Kapwepwe has been in custody since June 4, 2025 when he was cornered in Chirundu after he left his hiding place in Zimbabwe to meet a lady he had met online.
Apparently, the lady had promised to marry the 29-year-old sewer mouthed content creator, who according to Tonse Alliance chairman president, Given Lubinda is a freedom fighter.
After more than two months of hosting him, authorities arraigned Kapwepwe before court this afternoon.
As he appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates Court this afternoon, Kapwepwe was not his usual loud vulger character but appeared quiet with worry plastered on his face.
He has been charged with three counts of Hate Speech and Expressing or Showing Hatred, Ridicule or Contempt for Persons because of race, tribe, place of origin or color, contrary to Section 70(1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Zambian laws.
it is alleged in the first count that Kapwepwe on March 31, 2025, using a Computer System via his TikTok page called Why Me the Lion of the World, knowingly without lawful excuse used Hate Speech against the Tonga People, when he alleged that Nalumango was half-witted for allowing President HH to migrate Tongas to Kaputa District in her home village without protesting and was mute like a locust.
Particulars in the third count are that Kapwepwe on April 3,2025, using a Computer System via his TikTok page called Why Me the Lion of the World, knowingly without lawful excuse used Hate Speech against th People of Southern Province when he alleged that the President wants to install his fellow Tonga “Chi Mukuni as a King disregarding the four Senior Chiefs we have in the Country” and made a proposal that Southern Province be separated from Zambia and given another name.
In the third Count Kapwepwe on April 8, 2025 on his TikTok page called Why Me the Lion of the World, uttered words that expressed hatred, ridicule or contempt for the people of Southern Province by likening them to men’s family jewels and morons.
Appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Andrew Mungala, all by himself with no Tonse Alliance member to cheer him, Kapwepwe’s bravado always exhibited behind the keyboard evaporated as the matter wasn’t about censorship or political correctness but real people hurt, and consequences that lie ahead of him.
For years now the incorrigible Kapwepwe who was once convicted for a year for his social outbursts, believed he was untouchable behind his keyboard, not until police pounced on him as he met a woman that had been sending him salacious view once images.
The day of court was nothing like the glow of his itel phone screen, as he was reduced to a fraidy-cat from the lion of the world he proclaims to be when roaring profanities.
Magistrate Mungala explained the charges to the TikTok insultuous general, who said he understood but could not take plea as Director of Public Prosecutions, Gilbert Phiri has not yet issued consent to prosecute the case.
Kapwepwe will be back in court on August 26, 2025 for mention and possible plea.
