Unity, discipline top Solochi’s 2026 marching orders to ZNS

ZAMBIA National Service (ZNS) commander lieutenant general Maliti Solochi has challenged officers to embrace unity, discipline and professionalism as non-negotiable pillars for the Service in 2026.

In his New Year message, Lt Gen Solochi said the strength of ZNS in the year ahead will not be measured by ranks or titles, but by how united and committed officers remain to one mission of serving this country.

He warned that division within the Service weakens national development efforts, stating that progress can only be achieved when officers work as one family with shared purpose.

“Union is strength; division is weakness,” the ZNS commander said, quoting Christian writer Ellen G. White as he called for teamwork and loyalty across all formations and departments.

Lt Gen Solochi commended officers and civilian staff for the discipline, cooperation and professionalism exhibited in 2025, noting that their collective effort enabled ZNS to remain relevant and effective in national service.

He urged personnel to carry the same spirit into 2026, but with higher standards of conduct, as the Service continues to align itself with the development agenda of the New Dawn Administration.

He appealed to officers to execute their duties wholeheartedly and honestly, guided by moral values and respect for one another.

The commander also said officers should be known not only for their uniforms and drills, but for their character.
