A 25 year old Kitwe based Yango driver, Hakins Siwale, has been laid to rest after suffering gruesome stabbings from his two male passengers last Tuesday.
Copperbelt Online Taxis Association chairman Moses Mwaanga, shared that the incident unfolded on the fateful night around 21:00 hours when Siwale received a booking from a supermarket to local night club with the only stop at Ndeke Presidential.
The ride was ordered by two unidentified men who reportedly ganged up on him in the course of the trip.
According to Mwaanga, when the arrived at the first stop at Ndeke, one of the passengers requested to disembark so that he can quickly deliver some food before they proceeded – little did Siwale know that his life was on the edge of a blade.
When one passenger stepped out of the vehicle, the other one stabbed Siwale on his shoulder.
Following the stab, Siwale tried to escape and managed to slip out of the car only to be stabbed once more by the passenger who had earlier disembarked from the vehicle.
It is reported that the two heartless passengers continuously stabbed the driver on his leaving him painfully gasping for air as they fled with his car.
“After the incident, Siwale collapsed and was later discovered by some good samaritans who reported the matter to the police immediately,” Mwaanga said.
The police quickly rushed to the scene and took him to Chamboli level 1 hospital
and was later referred to Kitwe General Hospital.
He stayed there for three days until he met his fate..
Full details are yet to be given by authorities but investigations have been instituted.
