IN the over 40 years he has been married, Florence Mumba has described former Republican vice president and veteran politician Dr Nevers Mumba as a loving and consistent husband who has never been cruel to her.
Florence said this in a Facebook comment responding to veteran journalist Frank Mutubila who had celebrated the couple’s long marriage as one built on faith and God’s grace.
The couple, who tied the knot in 1985 at the Evangelical Church in Kitwe, have since built a family of five children and several grandchildren.
Mutubila had reflected on their marriage, noting that despite disagreements and difficult moments over the years, the couple has remained united through prayer and forgiveness.
In her response, Florence opened up on the private side of their marriage, saying Nevers has always chosen respect even in moments of disagreement.
Despite his political life, Dr Mumba never abandoned his duties as a responsible husband and father.
“Thank you, Uncle Frank! Your cousin is loving, kindhearted, consistent and passionate about our commitment to each other. Nevers has never been cruel to me. Even when we do disagree, he always wants us to argue quietly and respectfully,” she wrote.
She further revealed that one of the most cherished routines in their home is her husband bringing her tea every morning.
“You know what I love the most about him? The cup of tea he brings me each morning. It is a testament of his consistency,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Mumbas also remain closely associated with ministry work through Victory Ministries International, founded by Nevers Mumba alongside his political career.
