The Agency, working hand-in-hand with the Zambia National Service (ZNS) and other stakeholders, said the bridge installation works are expected to be completed and the road reopened to traffic tomorrow.

This comes after final decking, bracing installation and load testing are concluded.

“This milestone is a major step toward restoring safe and reliable access for communities that depend on this route for daily movement and trade,” RDA stated.

According to the update by the Agency, assembly of the steel superstructure is currently underway.

On site, workers are putting together the steel structure, checking all bolts and braces to make sure everything is strong and safe.

They are also positioning support beams and gradually launching the bridge into place.

So far, about 90 percent of the 43-metre bridge has been completed.
