Even chickens are gaining in UPND due to CDF – Malambo CDF chair

MALAMBO Constituency Development Fund Committee (CDFC) chairperson Isaac Sakala says the UPND is doing a great job through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) that chickens are even gaining daily in homes.

Addressing Malambo constituents on Tuesday, Sakala said CDF had transformed communities by providing grants that have improved household incomes, enabling families to meet their daily needs.

He stated that the CDF had not only given dignity to households in terms of rearing healthier livestock and poultry but has also improved the constituency’s security.

“We have been given a CDF police Land Cruiser. We have constructed bridges and children are now going to school because of CDF. In classrooms, pupils are no longer sitting on the floor. All this is CDF.”

“We also now have water across the constituency. Before, people only knew about tap water when they visited Lusaka. CDF is truly a game changer in this country,” said Sakala.

He added: “If you pass through home, everyone has fat chickens because of the CDF grants given to the community.”

Meanwhile, Esnart Mbewe, a resident of Malambo Constituency testified that before 2021, CDF was being shared among those that used to manage it and the community could not benefit from it.

“We just used to hear that CDF has been shared and days could pass just like that. And we also didn’t have the courage to hold our leaders accountable because we didn’t really understand what CDF was all about. They didn’t sensitise us about its benefits to the community,” said Mbewe.
