A Flight sergeant at Zambia Air Force (ZAF) accused of having sexual appetite over his own blood has been found with a case to answer.
The suspect allegedly defiled and impregnated his 14 year old biological daughter on dates between August 1 and 31, 2024
The victim was 28 weeks pregnant at the time of arrest.
The suspect aged 41 appeared before resident magistrate, Kawama Mwamfuli, and pleaded not guilty to incest contrary to Section 159 (1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
According to evidence presented before court, on unknown dates but between August 1 and 31, 2024, the suspect returned home drunk and went straight to his daughter’s bedroom, where she was sleeping with her younger sibling aged seven.
The suspect had a knife, which he used to threaten his daughter if she screamed.
After threatening her, he then asked the victim to get off the bed and get on the floor, where he allegedly defiled her.
The daughter failed to scream for help as the suspect was holding a knife in one hand.
The victim did not disclose to her mother until it was discovered that she was pregnant.
The matter was reported to the police on January 8, 2025 around 12:50 hours by the victim’s mother.
It is alleged that GM on dates unknown but between August 1 and 31, 2024 in Lusaka had unlawful carnal knowledge of a female namely JM, knowing the same to be his biological daughter.
After the last prosecution’s witness testified.The State closed it’s case.
And in ruling, on case or no case to answer, the court found the accused with a case to answer and put him on defence.
The court adjourned the matter to August 20, 2025 for mention and possible commencement of defence.
