This was the death of none other than comedian Robam Mwape, known by his legion of followers as Mwine Mushi, who died shortly after complaining of feeling tired.

On September 22 this year around 22 hours, some netizens before retiring to bed, were shocked to learn of the passing of celebrated comedian Robam Mwape fondly known by his legion of followers as Mwine Mushi.

This writer personally learnt of the death from DJ Mzenga Man’s facebook page where the demise of the comedian was most likely posted first.

Shortly, Mwine Mushi’s big brother Owas Mwape posted on his page for confirmation.

After this, Kalemba quickly contacted Mwape who gave an account of what transpired before his young brother’s death.

With no news of him being admitted to any health facility or being involved in an accident, the death of comedian, actor, pastor and film writer Robam Mwape that night came as shocking as it was devastating.

But those around Mwine Mushi revealed that in his last hours yesterday, the comedian had clearly announced that he was tired and his time was up.

Owas Mwape told Kalemba that the comedian had been well until he began complaining of feeling tired a day before his death.

He disclosed that although Mwine Mushi had suffered from high blood pressure last month and collapsed in Solwezi’s ShopRite, he was discharged two days later and seemed to have fully recovered.

On September 24, creatives gathered in Lusaka, Copperbelt and North Western Procinces to honour the life of Mwine Mushi.

The artists convened for special vigils that were dedicated to remembering the memory of the comedian who made the country laugh.

The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) was also present to give solidarity to the comedian industry.

The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Art was present with its delegation at the Lusaka vigil.

Mwine Mushi was laid to rest in Solwezi on September 26.
