A POLYGAMOUS man of Kabwe attacked his two wives and beat one to death after they angered him with their dance styles at a local tarven, where he had taken them for a Sunday drink up yesterday.
According to reports, on the financial strength of a 20 per cent NAPSA partial withdrawal, Gift Hakakwale Hamunyati, 42, took his two wives out to a local pub.
After taking one, two beers, Hakakwale remained seated while his two wives took to the dance floor.
However, Hakakwale did not approve of dance styles of his two wives as he thought they were only fit for the bedroom.
Hakakwale immediately ordered that they abandon their outing and go home and it is on their way home that the weekend turned grizzly.
After a heated quarrel about the dance, Hakakwale decided to discipline his wives physically and picked an axe handle with which he violently beat one of them identified as Silvia Nachula of an unnmarked house in Mukuyu Extension Compound.
From the savage bludgeoning, the 32 year old victim sustained multiple head injuries as well as a deep cut in her private parts, causing her death.
After kocking her out, Hakakwale turned to his other wife who fortunately escaped with her life intact.
Central Province police commanding officer David Mukuka Chileshe confirmed the incident in a statement.
Chileshe said the incident occurred at around 01:00 yesterday at C-Gate Compound and that Hakakwale had since been arrested while the the body of his deceased wife has been deposited in Kabwe Central hospital mortuary, awaiting post-mortem.
