A ZAMBIA Air Force (ZAF) officer on Friday evening fled after bashing and killing a pedestrian around 19:30 hours along Twin Palm Road near Petroda Filling station in Lusaka.
After being hit, the yet-to-identified male victim aged between 25 and 30 was only rushed to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) by good Samaritan while Lieutenant Colonel Elvin Mulwazi sped off.
Unfortunately, the victim who sustained fatal injuries was pronounced dead upon arrival at UTH.
However, this morning Lieutenant Colonel Mulwazi was marched to Ibex Police Station by his commanders to dance to the music of his crime.
Zambia Police Service deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale has confirmed the detention of the run-away 54 year soldier of Obama in Chelstone area.
“…the body of the deceased pedestrian is in UTH mortuary awaiting formal identification,” Mwale told Kalemba.
