However, the artiste says he wouldn’t be surprised if he does not get any, as he believes the way some awards are conducted is not that genuine.
He shared that the love and support of fans are far more valuable than any trophy or recognition.
Speaking to #Kalemba, Frank admitted that he has often thought about awards, especially with so much work he has put in this year, but realised that he does not allow himself to be consumed by the desire for trophies.
The ‘Sotambe’ hitmaker expressed his concerns about the fairness of music awards, feeling that hard work and dedication don’t always get the recognition they deserve.
He noted that a lack of acknowledgment can be discouraging, but what drives him and other artistes is their genuine love for music and their craft.
However, he also acknowledged that award processes can be biased, which might lead to deserving artistes being overlooked.
“On my end since I got into the game and obviously getting recognised, I wouldn’t say the organsers of these awards have been unfair to me based on the efforts I have put in and looking at how much potential I have,” he said.
“I know what I’m capable of doing and I think whatever recognition comes, it’s ok but to be fair, we all need to be recognised.”
Meanwhile, Frank Ro shared that he finds fulfillment in the support of his fans, viewing their appreciation as the ultimate reward.
While he’s not overly consumed with winning awards, he acknowledged their significance and hopes to receive recognition for his tireless efforts in creating music.
“I anticipate that am most definitely getting an award or two this year because I have put in so much work and I can’t lie, it’s been studio session after another, making content countless times but nevertheless, if things don’t work out and I don’t get recognised, then I still move on because life has to continue,” he added.
The rising star has been one of the most consistent voices in Zambia’s contemporary music scene, pushing out love ballads and inspirational tracks that have slowly cemented his place among the industry’s most promising acts.
