ZAMBIAN RnB music act, James Makowane aka Neo has been making both positive and negative headlines on social media, salons and barber shops following the recent release of his newest single titled ‘After God Fear Men.’

Despite the frenzy, Neo says he still stands on the message of his recent song as it depicts the truth.

“Umwaume Temunobe (a man is not your friend)” is currently taking over as a National slogan for women, sparking conversation among netizens.

This is because the song has generalized all men as naturally unfaithful human beings who will always look for a second, third or fourth party in a relationship or marriage due to their failure to appreciate a woman’s efforts.

The banger ‘After God Fear Men’ has been a sound track on almost every Zambian woman’s status who are lip syncing the lyrics that have resonated with their love life experiences.

”You can cook, have a body as fine as a wine bottle, love him your whole life and in all languages, be with him in all situations, and perform traditional styles in bed, but a man will still cheat,” part of the lyrics read.

He goes on to sing that a woman can be submissive to a man and respect him from January to December but a man is never grateful because old habits are hard to let go.

Following the release of the song, a couple of keyboard warriors spread memes and joked saying when counting females, Neo should be counted as well.

But Neo laughed it out stating that he did not take such comments seriously because he understood the kind of country he is in.

The artiste also called the King of Hearts said he does not take social media seriously because netizens online were only trying to have a good sense of humor.

Some men expressed online that the artiste was a betrayer and had disappointed in the entire generation of Zambian men.

Others went on to allege that the song might have been written by the artiste’s wife while Neo’s voice and beat brought it to write.

But Zambians will always be Zambians and there is no denying that song is really causing the chaos of a masterpiece on the airwaves and sound waves.

When contacted for a comment, the 34 year-old artiste told Kalemba that he produced the song based on the complaints he mostly gets from several women who sneak into his inbox for comfort and advice.

“With the type of music that I do. I have a lot of people that come to me for advise on a daily basis and 95 percent of them are women who complain bitterly about the betrayal they get from men. My subconscious has been recording all these. I have had this for over a year and I have just been debating on whether to record it or not.

“But what pushed me was when I performed ‘A Woman’s Prayer and saw how women reacted to it in the crowd. In some way, we men are unfair to our women though this time around its 50-50 because women are also crafty like men, but I think we started this whole thing as men,” said Neo.

The artiste also said that he respects the different opinions that everyone has over the song.

“But for me, I think the song is the unsaid truth because I don’t think there is ever a woman in this world who speaks good of you as a man when you mess up, that’s an illusion if you think they do. I have been in a situation where women say their men messed up and trust me, what I sang in that song is much better than what they say”.

“It’s in our daily life, it’s only that it’s coming from a fellow man, men felt more attacked which I understand. But I equally put myself on the peddle stole as a married man so my wife is also looking at me. So that’s the truth, whether we like it or not and I stand on it,” Neo said.

However, despite the shade thrown on him by his gender, the other gender have fully welcomed the song and supported the artiste saying that unlike others, he has sang the truth that even some female artists fail to.

Aside from the current song on the table, Neo has been a hit maker of many love songs in the past years, but another song that women find relatable on his play list is ‘A woman’s prayer’ in the track, he sings of the desires that every woman wishes for and the hardships they face during a certain age.
