2 artistes die within two days this month

NOVEMBER has started on a sad note, with the country losing two music artistes, one to illness while the other took his life.

Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) president Brian Bwembya alias B Flow confirmed that Paul Mwale, popularly known as Masik took his life while Jack Chipenze, fondly known as Jax Chips died following an illness.

Masik, who was well known for his collaborations with several artists and his strong commitment to Zambia’s music industry lost his life on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

He has been remembered for constantly visiting and supporting fellow artistes who were admitted to the hospital, including the late Daddy Zemus and P Jay.

Masik’s funeral is being held in Matero, Lusaka, and will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Jax Chips, known for his mega hit single “Nilibe intention,” fell ill and eventually lost his life yesterday.

Jax Chips’ burial arrangements are yet to be announced.

Both Masik and Jax Chips were prominent figures in the Zambian music scene, particularly between 2000 and 2010, and their commitment to the industry left a continuing impact on fellow artistes.

The Zambia Association of Musicians has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the two artistes, describing their deaths as a great loss to the music fraternity.

” [Death has] robbed the music industry of two of its devoted sons. We mourn their lives and celebrate their musical heritage,” said B Flow.
