PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has handed over a vehicle to Zambia’s two time World’s Strongest Man titleholder, Paul Mwanza.
Mwanza, who made history in November 2024 by becoming the first African to win the World Strongman Games Championship has since risen to international fame.
His latest feat is a gold medal victory at the prestigious Arnold Schwarzenegger Classics.
The victory has not only cemented his place as a global icon but also lifted Zambia’s name to unprecedented heights in the world of strength sports.
The vehicle, a generous donation from EVC Investment Limited was presented to Mwanza in appreciation of his achievements and as a gesture of support for young Zambian talent.

President Hichilema commended Mwanza for his unwavering dedication, strength and discipline, stating that his accomplishments had placed Zambia firmly on the global sporting stage.
The Head of State urged the Ministry of Information and Media to ensure that all sporting disciplines, including lesser known ones like strongman contests, receive equal promotion.
According to Information and Media permanent secretary Thabo Kawana, during the handover ceremony at State House yesterday, it was made clear that all sports disciplines will be treated the same as there is no minor and major sports.
“Further, this administration aims to turn Zambia into the most physically active nation in Africa, a continental sports powerhouse and a global leader in the use of sports as a tool for sustainable development,” said Kawana through a statement.
