Businessman accused of swindling police spokesperson makes bail

A LUSAKA businessman who swindled police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga out of K159,550 cash has been granted bail in the sum of K50,000 in his own recognisance with two working sureties.

Cryford Chuuba aged 36 is accused of obtaining money by false pretense contrary to the laws of Zambia.

It is alleged that Chuuba, jointly and whilst acting together with another person unknown with intent to defraud, obtained K159, 550.00 cash from Rae Simalambo Hamoonga by falsely pretending he had 73 cattle for sale when in fact not.

The accused person Chuuba (right) has since been released from custody.
