There are several essential points in this verse. The most crucial is the fact that God does not quit and that He always finishes whatever He starts. Thus, we can have great confidence that He will complete the good work He has begun in us. He will see us through every step until we reach our ultimate destination.
Joseph is one of the best scriptural examples of a person who did not quit. He had many reasons to justify giving up. He made many opportunities to quit. When he was trapped in the pit where his jealous brothers had thrown him, I am certain he said to himself, “This isn’t the way I dreamed my life would work out!” Later, he had a tremendous opportunity to become discouraged and quit when he was thrown into prison for a crime he did not commit. Again, he could have said to himself, “This is not right! I’m not supposed to be here.” Although Joseph did not comprehend the steps the Lord ushered him through, he remained true to His God and his vision. Despite the trials and false accusation of an attempted rape he faced, he did not quit. Eventually the dream that God had given him became reality. Joseph was elevated from a prisoner to a prime minister in one day! He was elevated from the bottom to the top. His life was transformed in a single day. The story of Joseph can be summed up as an ex-convict who became a prime minister. May your story of life become an inspiration to those present and those that shall come after you!
Life will not always be easy, but there is no greater life than that of attaining your vision. Most people quit when they are on the brink of success, often when fulfilment is at their fingertips. Only you can decide not to lose. Luke 18 documents the story Jesus told about the persistent widow. Verse 1 says, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 18:1 KJV. The psalmist David tells us, “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:5 KJV
In conclusion, the only way we can lose is to quit. Quitting is a decision we make that can keep us from attaining our dreams. Do not quit on your dream. Successful people made mistakes in life but they did not quit trying.
Never give up trying to build the world you can see, even if others cannot see it. You keep going no matter how hard it gets. Do not quit, just do it. Keep trying and you will get there.
