GHANAIAN evangelist Bishop Dag Heward-Mills has prayed for President Hakainde Hichilema to be granted victory in this year’s elections and be given a better second term.
The preacher also asked God to help the President overcome every “Goliath” standing in Zambia’s path, while protecting the nation from wickedness and instability.
Bishop Heward-Mills made the prayer during a courtesy call meeting with President Hichilema at State House yesterday after delivering remarks to the Head of State.
The evangelist, who is in Zambia for the Healing Jesus Campaign crusade, said he wished the President the same grace that biblical King David had to lead strongly and be remembered positively.
He prayed that Zambia’s August elections should be peaceful and free from confusion, mistakes or unrest.
“And let the second term be a better term, and let it go higher and better according to your grace and mercy,” Bishop Heward-Mills prayed.
“I pray also finally that you grant him victory over every giant, and over every Goliath.”
Turning to the country, he asked God to remove thievery, deception, stealing and all forms of vice, including imported bad habits trying to settle in Zambia.
He further prayed that Zambia should always be known as a peaceful and democratic nation.
