Chipata father rescues 13 year old daughter abducted by 4 boys

A CHIPATA man in Magazine Township is probably wishing he had four pairs of hands after failing to capture an elusive quartet that abducted his 13 year old daughter who was reported missing.

However, the man will live to cherish yesterday as the day rescued his daughter from potential harm.

According to sources, four boys abducted the teenager while she was coming from the market on an errand and locked her up in a two bedroom house overnight.

The girl’s parents decided to report to Chipata Central Police Station for a missing child after they realised that the juvenile had not returned home.

Among the four abductors, only Bernard Ng’uni was identified.

Eastern Province Police commanding officer, Robertson Mweemba disclosed that the abduction incident occurred between Monday March 16, 2026 at around 17:00 hours and Tuesday March 17, 2026 at around 12:00 hours.

He said that the juvenile’s mother, Prisca Miti, reported yesterday that her daughter was abducted by Ng’uni and his three friends.

“After coming from the police, Miti went home with her husband and continued searching for their daughter, until they met the victim’s friend who directed them where to find her.”

“When they reached the house they were directed to, they found a boy standing by the door who denied having seen the victim after being questioned,” he said.

Mweemba further explained that the victim’s father refused to believe the boy’s response and forced himself into the house where he found the boys seated in the living room while his daughter was coming from the bedroom, running towards him.

The police commanding officer said the girl’s father failed to apprehend any of the boys, as he was outnumbered and they all scampered.

“[The father] managed to take his daughter home, who later disclosed that she was abducted and taken to a two roomed house where she was left to sleep in the bedroom, while Ng’uni slept in the living room.”

“The victim denied being sexually abused after she was questioned,” revealed Mweemba.
