I tell stories based on reality, not complaints,Alpha Romeo hints at new album

FANS of hip-hop artiste Alpha Romeo are set to be given a treat as the rapper revealed that he is working on a new album with celebrated producer KB Killa Beats.

The artiste has also cleared the misconception that his music is based on complaints, clarifying that his songs are birthed on reality, carry substance, inspire people and stand the test of time.

For years, songs like Mu Life Ya New with the late P Jay, Where Have You Been with Wezi, Ba Yaweh featuring Exile, and Mwationako have carried strong messages that some listeners interpret as lamentations.

But Alpha Romeo insists his art is not about whining, it’s about telling stories that mirror the struggles, triumphs, and everyday realities of the people.

Speaking on the ZANIS Breakfast Show, Alpha Romeo explained that his lyrics are often mistaken for complaints, yet they are rooted in everyday life.

“I do not complain in my music. I tell stories, and those stories are based on reality,” Alpha Romeo said.

He said that his writing process is natural and effortless because it comes from lived experiences.

“It’s easy for me because I’m not forcing anything. This is my talent, and I talk about things that are visible,” said Alpha Romeo.

Alpha Romeo added that his music is meant to connect with people and give them hope.

“I have inspired a lot of people. Sometimes someone stops me to say how much my music has changed their life. That’s the biggest achievement for me,” Alpha Romeo said.

He also said he can’t be talking about things that are not true to him.

“I can’t start talking about chains every day or cars and clothes. I understand my audience, and my stories will always catch up with them,” Alpha Romeo said.

He pointed to his hit Where Have You Been as an example of how his music resonates.

“That song touched people who had been inactive in their businesses or careers. They cried to me saying they loved it. That’s why I don’t change,” said Alpha Romeo.

Despite the challenges, Alpha Romeo said he remains true to his craft.

“A song needs to have substance. That’s why when I perform, people don’t just request my songs , they love them because they carry meaning,” Alpha Romeo said.

Romeo has also revealed that he is working on a new album produced by KB and other young talents.

“Pretty soon I’ll be announcing the title and when it’s dropping. It’s coming very soon,” Alpha Romeo said.

He has also paid tribute to the late P Jay, describing him as more than just a collaborator.

“PJ was not just an artist to me. He was my brother, and even in his death, he still is. He helped me penetrate the industry and I’ll always appreciate him,” Alpha Romeo said.
