The engagement comes as the Head of State continues his stay in the district, where he has been since December 31, 2025, on a working holiday.

During this period, President Hichilema has been carrying out official duties while also taking time to interact with citizens.

Yesterday, the President briefly stopped at the Daniel Munkombwe Toll Plaza in Choma while attending to his work schedule, where he exchanged greetings with members of the public.

Southern Province minister Credo Nanjuwa said the planned engagement is in response to numerous requests from citizens who have expressed a desire to interact directly with the President.

He explained that people across the province have been seeking an opportunity to meet the Head of State and raise issues of concern.

He said the public meeting will provide a structured platform for residents from all 15 districts to engage with the President on a wide range of national and local matters.

Among the issues expected to feature prominently during the interaction is the recently passed Constitution (Amendment) Bill No. 7 of 2025.

Nanjuwa said President Hichilema intends to engage citizens on the contents of the law in order to allow people to better understand the reforms and to share their views.
