The youths began their 618 kilometre journey on December 4, 2025 and arrived at State House last Friday.

They spent five days at State House as they sought an audience with officials to express appreciation to the President for a peaceful political environment in the country.

Speaking on behalf of the group, John Kimba said the youths were warmly received upon arrival.

“We were welcomed nicely. We thought we would be welcomed by gunshots, but when we reached the gate, we were guided on who to see. Throughout our stay, State House took care of us and our stay was beautiful,” Kimba said.

He expressed happiness that the group completed the long walk without experiencing any violence or interference.

“We walked all the way without being interfered with by cadres. If it had been during the last regime, I don’t think we would have reached this far without being involved in some violence,” he said.

He said the peaceful nature of the journey motivated the youths to personally assure the President of their support.

The youths also thanked the President for development projects in North-Western Province, including the revival of mining activities and the commissioning of road infrastructure.

They further expressed satisfaction with the passing of Bill 7 into law, which they said would strengthen governance.

Meanwhile, State House Special Assistant to the President for Politics Levy Ngoma thanked the youths for their initiative and said President Hichilema remained open to engaging all citizens.

Ngoma encouraged young people to continue promoting peace, unity and love as the country prepares for general elections next year.

“President Hichilema is open for peace, dialogue, economic development and real hardwork. State House is your home. Anyone is welcome and the President sends his appreciation,” said Ngoma.

After weeks of walking, the youths were flown back to Solwezi, courtesy of State House.
