POPULAR Copperbelt musician Andrew Chisala, known by his stage name Cavman, has thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for rescuing him from struggle, saying he now sleeps peacefully and no longer fears witchcraft attacks.
Speaking directly to President Hichilema during the President’s visit to the Copperbelt, Cavman, who recently received a fully furnished house and K30,200 cash from the ruling UPND, publicly told the Head of State that for the first time in years he now sleeps peacefully.
He said his life had completely changed since receiving help from President Hichilema, saying that he had lived through extremely difficult times without a home or even a single block to start building one
“Boss, I had nothing, not even a single block or a place to sleep but you came through for me. Thank you so much. These days, witches no longer torment me and I sleep peacefully,” said Cavman.
The Ndola-based musician, rose to fame for his campaign songs that supported the UPND during its opposition days.
He performed at rallies, campaign events and party meetings, with a strong belief that one day his efforts would be appreciated.
In September, the UPND Copperbelt management team, with full backing from President Hichilema and First Lady Mutinta Hichilema, launched a project called ‘Buy a House for Cavman’ to reward the artiste for his loyalty and contribution to the party’s 2021 election victory.
Cavman was given a brand-new, fully furnished home in Ndola, complete with household items and cash to help him restart his life.
Yesterday, when Cavman finally got a chance to speak to the President face-to-face since receiving the house and thanked him in person.
