ZAMBIA women’s national football team coach Nora Häuptle has expressed pride in the Copper Queens’ performance, but says there’s still room for growth and improvement after their impressive win over Namibia.
The Copper Queens yesterday recorded a commanding 3-0 triumph that secured their place at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, completing a 7-2 aggregate victory across both legs.
The queens showed grit and tactical discipline to secure the win, earning praise from their coach for their organisation, fighting spirit and teamwork.
Häuptle praised the team’s determination and structure throughout the tie, noting how the players executed the tactical plan with discipline and belief.
“We created good chances and stayed compact defensively. I’m proud of how the team implemented the plan.”
“Of course, there are still details we need to improve, our decision-making in the final third and a bit more composure in transitions, but overall, it was a strong team performance,” she added.
With qualification secured, Zambia will now turn their focus to fine-tuning ahead of the continental showpiece, carrying the confidence of a side that continues to grow in stature and consistency.
