The visit saw the donation of electric cooking pots and sports gear, igniting a revival in both the school’s kitchen and sports spirit.

With the kitchen now better equipped and the sports field newly energised, the donation will make a tangible difference in daily student life at Kawambwa Boys Secondary School.

Speaking during the donation, association president Moffat Nsofwa emphasised that the school played a crucial role in shaping many lives, and it was only fitting for former students to support the success of those coming after them.

Nsomfwa noted that the electric points will help streamline meal preparation for hundreds of students, relieving pressure on kitchen staff and improving efficiency.

“The sports gear, including footballs, jerseys, and training equipment, is set to enhance athletic activities and boost student participation,” he said.

He further committed to refurbishing the classroom he once learned in, as part of the association’s sustained efforts to uplift the school.

“I have adopted 12A, the class I once belonged to, and I’m committed to equipping it with modern learning tools, including updated boards and other essential resources,” he said.

And school headteacher Bestone Musonda noted that the current kitchen in use is the same one that past students, including the alumni, used during their time at school.

“While it has served its purpose over the years, it is now due for an upgrade. The introduction of electric cooking equipment is expected to enhance the school’s home economics programme and help learners become familiar with using modern appliances like electric pots,” he stated.

He also highlighted the importance of sports in a student’s overall development.

“The new sports gear will enable learners to engage in physical activities, helping them strike a balance between academics and outdoor participation, which is essential for building teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness.”
