ZAMBIA’s music sensation Obed Chileshe, known by his stage name ‘Chile one’ has taken the spotlight with an impressive seven nominations at this year’s Kwacha Music Awards, making him the most nominated artiste for the 2025 edition.
Hot on his heels is fellow superstar Yo Maps (Elton Mulenga), who has secured six nominations, making the competition tighter than ever.
The two chart-topping artistes have dominated the airwaves over the past year, with hit songs, sold out shows and massive fan support across the country and beyond.
Their presence on the nominees list is a reflection of their impact, consistency, and undeniable talent.
Chile One and Yo Maps are both nominated in major categories, including Best Artiste Male, Song of the Year and Album of the Year among others, setting the stage for an exciting showdown at this year’s award ceremony.
Their recent hits have not only ruled the airwaves but also struck emotional chords with listeners across the country, touching on themes of love, struggle, unity and identity.
From dance floors to radio playlists, their music continues to resonate with audiences, young and old.
Other nominees include musical heavyweights; Roberto, Macky 2, Jae Cash, Dizmo, Chester, all with five nominations to their names.
Cleo Ice Queen also makes a powerful showing with four nominations, while T-Sean and Jay Trigga round out the top nominees, each receiving three nominations.
Triple M and Frank Ro have also been nominated three times.
