THE family of late ABSA Bank Zambia brand and communications manager Ndela Sichizya has announced that the respected marketing professional will be laid to rest between Wednesday or Thursday this week, depending on the family’s final arrangements.
Sichizya, 43, died on Sunday, at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), after spending 12 days in a coma following his collapse at work on July 23.
The sudden collapse of Sichizya on July 23, followed by his 12-day coma and subsequent death on Sunday, has cast a dark cloud on Zambia’s corporate and financial sectors with tributes pouring in from friends and colleagues.
Known for his humility, brilliance and quiet leadership, Sichizya was widely admired in these circles, making his passing a devastating loss to the community.
According to his elder brother Matete Sichizya, the family has not yet settled on a definitive burial date however, he indicated that Wednesday or Thursday might be the days that the family will ultimately choose.
“In terms of burial, we are yet to confirm. We will be meeting as a family to conclude on the burial date. It might be either Wednesday or Thursday. We will be certain by the end of the day when the burial will take place,” Matete said.
Sichizya’s passing was not only a loss to his family, but also to the corporate and financial sectors, where he held various high-profile roles over the course of his distinguished career.
