Government to cover Dandy Krazy, four deceased’s funeral costs

GOVERNMENT has revealed that it will assist with covering the funeral costs of musician Wesley Chibambo alias Dandy Krazy and that of the four others who died in the road traffic accident.

Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts permanent secretary Fumbe Chama disclosed that government, through the National Arts Council is working hand in hand with the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM).

Chama stated that government is now working at repatriating the bodies of the four who died on the spot from Kapiri to Lusaka and Copperbelt respectively.

“As government, we are doing everything we can to support the families. We are working closely with the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) through the National Arts Council to support the already [established] interventions in making sure that we successfully mourn our colleagues.”

“So as the National Arts Council and ZAM, we are working at repartriating the bodies from Kapiri to Lusaka, one to the Copperbelt,” he shared.

And ZAM president Davis Munsanda told Kalemba that the deceased artistes will all be accorded with the same respect and send off.

“All the artistes regardless of being upcoming that lost their lives, including the driver that was taking them to the event is regarded as the friend of the arts. We are handling all the funerals at the same time. We are working hand in hand with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts. National Arts Council and ZAM.”

“We have made progress to ensure that we give a befitting burial to all of them. We will ensure that it is an equal treat to all of them. The fans should be more united” stated Munsanda.
