FORMER President Edgar Lungu says he is heading to Kawambwa to campaign for the Tonse Alliance candidate in the upcoming Kawambwa parliamentary by-election which is set for December 20 this year.
Speaking after the alliance unveiled its candidate at a press briefing this morning, Lungu accused government of scheming to discredit the Tonse Alliance candidate.
He vowed that he will not allow any government official or law enforcement officer to interfere with his plans to campaign stating that he knows “imingalato” (tricks) better than the ruling party.
“I’m going to Kawambwa to campaign, and I want it known that I’m not going to be restrained by the protocols of Government which they want to use ati iyo you can’t campaign because the president is there,” said Lungu.
“The president will always be there in Zambia, and if they want, they can close the airspace to move the president around, somewhere somewhere, we know imingalato. We will respect the law but we won’t succumb to imingalato,” added Lungu.
