New Leicester manager hits ground running, Daka puts on show

Zambian international, Patson Daka yesterday scored his first Premier League goal of the season after coming from an injury and he did that on the first day of the new Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first match.

It is quite ironic how Ruud van Nistelrooy went from defeating Leicester 5-2 in his first match as Manchester United caretaker during an EFL clash to winning with the foxes in his first match managing them.

Furthermore three weeks ago, he defeated Leicester 3-0 in the premiere league in his final match with Manchester United.

But on Tuesday night, the script completely changed when van Nistelrooy led the Foxes to a 3 – 1 win over West Ham to become the first manager to win two consecutive matches with a team he defeated in the previous match.

The victory came courtesy of Jamie Vardy, Bilal El Khannouss and Patson Daka’s goals.

Daka, who recently got back into action from an injury spell, looked lively since he was introduced to the match replacing Vardy in the 60th minute.

It took the Zambian international 30 minutes to fire the ball into the roof of the net to make the score 3-0.

West Ham clapped back with a consolation in the 90+3 minute of the game with a Niclas Füllkrug goal to end the match at 3-1 in favor of the Foxes.

Many Zambian are hopeful that with a new manager and with good form Daka could have more game time to demonstrate his abilities on the pitch, and perhaps be molded into a more lethal striker under the Dutchman’s watch.

Leicester City are currently number 15 on the premier league table with 13 points, culminating from three games won in 14 matches played, four draws and seven loses.

Will the will of fortune turn for the best under Ruud van Nistelrooy ? Well, prepare your popcorns as he takes the fans there, one game at a time.

Before the match, the Dutchman said he understood his assignment had many priorities but the his most important objective at the moment is to win games.
