ZAMBIA’s women’s national football team has risen one spot to fourth in Africa according to the latest FIFA rankings released today.

This is their highest ranking ever on the continent.

The Copper Queens’ achievement comes on the heels of their qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris later this month.

The team is currently ranked 64th globally, also their highest ranking ever.

Zambia’s rise in the rankings is part of a larger trend of growth in women’s football around the world.

Taking top spot in Africa is Nigeria followed by South Africa, Morocco, Zambia and Ghana closes the top five.
