Zambian Women’s national football team has taken some strides in the FIFA- Coca-Cola rankings as they rank ninth in Africa and 77 globally.
According to the latest FIFA Coca-Cola Rankings, the World Cup bound Copper Queens moved from 88th to 77th in the world.
Football Association of Zambia disclosed that the Cooper Queens’ Group C opponents at the Australia/New Zealand FIFA World Cup, Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica seventh, eleventh and 36 respectively on the global charts.
Nigeria is the highest ranked African team in 42nd position globally while South Africa stands is number 54 and Cameroon 56.
Zambia is among the four African countries which includes Nigerian, Morroco and South Africa that will be at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
