AFTER dominating the Muscle accumulating sport of body building in Zambia for the past 11 years, Sylvester Mwila’s reign came to an end as a new champion, Nelson Chabota emerged.
Chabota became Zambia’s number one strong man after a tightly contested competition of men who showcased their ripped bodies with only a tiny piece of cloth covering their drilling machines in between their legs.
Sylvester Mwila came in second position for the first time in over a decade.
And in the Junior competition, Musonda Mutale of Kitwe won the Junior Mr. Zambia trophy, beating Misheck Silungwe and David Mwape who finished second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, Natasha Namuyemba of Gladiator Gym won the women’s bikini category and others awarded last night are Shadreck Mwila in the Men’s Physique category and Nelson Ngoma in the light weight category.
Further ZNBC reports that Kabwata Gym Manager Andros Kumwenda was awarded with the Best Chairperson’s award.
Youth, Sports and Arts Minister Elvis Nkandu who was represented Deputy Director Sport Mable Nedziwe utilised the event to campaign against Gennder bases violence.
Nkandu advised body builders to become Ambassadors against Gender Based Violence by protecting women instead of engaging in violence.
