PARAMOUNT Chief Mphezeni of the Ngoni people says if things go bad for his chiefdom, he will run to the government for help and not the opposition.
Speaking when Labour and Social Security minister Brenda Tambatamba paid a courtesy call on him at his Ekuphendukeni Palace in Chipata, Mphezeni assured the government of his support noting that he can never betray them by working with the opposition.
He also urged government to continue delivering development to the people of Zambia and desist from paying attention to critics.
āContinue working hard, everything is in your hands. if things go bad, people will run to you because you are the government, so donāt pay attention to those criticising you. Pay attention to developing the country. Those who like responding when you are doing well donāt mean well for the country,ā said the Paramount Chief.
āAs for me, I work with the government because if things go bad, I will not run anywhere else but the government, we are partners. And for us to deliver development to our people, we have to work together.ā
The traditional leader further commended the UPND administration for being non-selective when delivering development to the country.
He said government had done well in terms of improving the welfare of all citizens in every part of the country.
