THE family of late musician Dandy Krazy real name Wesley Chibambo has applauded the doctors that were attending to Dandy for their professional conduct.
Dandy Krazy who died yesterday at the age of 47 at UTH was involved in a fatal road traffic accident on New Year’s Eve which claimed the lives of four people on the spot.
The artiste was immediately taken to Kabwe Central Hospital and later evacuated to UTH where he underwent a brain surgery and died in the early hours of yesterday.
Dandy Krazy’s elder brother Chifwenge Chibambo who is the family representative stated that the doctors at the country’s biggest hospital tried their best to save the life of his young brother as they all remained dedicated, despite it being a holiday.
Chibambo said on the fateful day, almost all senior doctors at the hospital were present just so they could do their work diligently in trying to save a life.
“When my young brother was evacuated from Kabwe to Lusaka, I want to commend the UTH staff, they worked tirelessly to save his life,” he said.
“On the day my brother was operated on, nearly all senior doctors were present to save a life, it was a holiday but they were trying to save a life.”
He further asked government to provide security at the house of mourning so that the country mourns in a dignified way.
“We are requesting government to provide security at this funeral house because he touched so many lives. This funeral house is open to anyone who wants to visit. We as a family may not be able to provide security. Dandy was a state symbol, he deserves a certain amount of patronage so that we mourn him in a dignified way,” explained Chibambo.
He assured the public that the funeral programme will be issued once the family makes consultations with government that has committed to cover all the funeral costs.
