A 24 year old man of Lusaka’s Marapodi Compound suspected of killing his nine months pregnant wife and hiding her under the bed has been found about 600 kilometres away from home.
It is reported that Samuel Himwaba took flight after beating his 21 year old wife, Maureen Chama to death on Friday and left her wrapped up in a bed sheet under his bed.
According to reports, the Gen Z husband found his wife with another man at a bar within Marapodi Compound leading to altercation and later the homicide.
The following morning, Hiwamba’s mother, Christine Katongo later found the body after she noticed the couple were not coming out of their bedroom.
On Sunday, justice caught up with Himwamba as he learned the hard way that when one breaks the law, the whole country becomes small as a needle. Police officers traced him in Solwezi.
“The suspect, who is the husband of the deceased, was arrested [on] December 29, 2024, in Solwezi, where he had fled following the incident,” police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed.
