A JEALOUS and possessive man has vanished in the sugar plantations of Mazabuka after delivering a bitter battering and bruising to his former wife, simply for moving on with her life.
The victim, 35-year-old Yvonne Choobe, thought she had closed the chapter on her marriage to Leonard Siachoona, but her ex-husband’s jealousy proved to be a toxic and violent force.
Just two months after their divorce, Yvonne began rebuilding her life in Lusaka, where she found a new job and a new sense of purpose.
But when she returned to Mazabuka to visit her new love interest, Mwila Abbishy, her ex-husband’s did not take matters too well.
Siachoona’s anger boiled over, and he viciously attacked Yvonne at Mwila’s house, using a slasher and his fists to inflict severe injuries.
The brutal beating left Yvonne with cuts, bruises, and swollen limbs, a painful souvenir of her failed marriage to her possessive and violent former husband.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka, confirmed the incident, stating that Siachoona is currently on the run. “The victim was issued with a medical report form and received medical services at Kaonga Mini-Hospital,” said Daka.
