A 14-YEAR-OLD girl of Chikankata District in Southern Province is currently carrying a three months pregnancy after she was impregnated by her older boyfriend who she had been ‘dating’ since she was 11 years old.
The girl who is currently in grade four was in this illegal relationship since 2021 and her family was never aware.
The illegal relationship only came to light when the child fell pregnant and the mother, aged 38 noticed.
When questioned, the survivor said she was impregnated by her boyfriend only identified as Mweemba Blood who she has been going out with since 2021.
The child’s mother, then reported the defilement to the police on Friday.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka who confirmed the incident said the age of the suspect is yet to be known.
“It has been established that the victim, a grade four (04) pupil at Kasaka Community School has has been in a relationship with Mweemba Blood since 2021 when she was eleven (11) years old and that they have been having carnal knowledge since then,” said Daka.
Daka said a docket of the case has since been opened and no arrest has been made yet.
