PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says the United Nations (UN) wants to use Zambia as an example of what they are calling the minimum policies that every government must have for its people,

This is as a result of the policies such as the Free Education policy among others that President Hichilema has implemented since he took office.

The President stated that even other African presidents have been reaching out to him to find out how he has managed to revamp the Zambian economy in a short time.

He said this when he paid a courtesy call on the hosting chiefs for the Chabuka Traditional ceremony in Mansa District, Luapula Province yesterday.

“The UN is also learning on the CDF. I don’t want to mention names but other presidents every time we meet are asking, ‘HH, how did you do CDF? We hear good things are happening, we hear classrooms are being built across the country at the same time, water, health centres, maternity wings, African countries are learning’.

“We have only been in office for three years. Many have been in office,..ten years, fifteen years, it means there’s something good that we are doing. We are committed to this country and its people,” shared President Hichilema.

President Hichilema revealed that Mansa airport and other airports that require revamping will soon be upgraded to allow more investments in the country.

“Mansa for the first time since independence will be upgraded to international airport. So that the investors can now come into Mansa and drive around different sectors. We will be doing Chipata, Choma and Nakonde. Give us your trust and allow us to fix your country. We will do it properly in an organised way,” he disclosed.

The Head of State further said his government remains committed to learning more about each province in the country so it can deliver development without segregation.

“As I go round the ceremonies I learn a lot, I appreciate the messages that you have raised and we are grateful for the challenges raised. This nation will be developed equally,” said the President.
