POLICE in Southern Province have arrested a 42-year-old man of Zambia compound in Choma district after he was caught red handed by his wife, defiling his 12 year-old step daughter.
According to police reports, the family had gone to sleep around 22:00 hours on Tuesday, and everyone went in their respective rooms.
But before sleeping, the suspect, asked his wife aged 32 if they could play some bedroom games before slumber, but she reportedly refused and slept instead.
Unknown to her, her husband had other illegal plans in his mind of relieving himself – he woke up around 23:00 hours after she was fast asleep and went to the bedroom where her juvenile daughter slept.
When he got there, he started having carnal knowledge of his innocent stepdaughter. But while in the process, his wife noticed his absence in bed, and also heard some noise from her daughter’s bedroom.
So she went to check on what was going on, only to find her husband forcing himself on the young girl.
Out of frustration and anger, the emotionally charged mother immediately grabbed a pan brick and hit her husband on his forehead, leaving him with a cut on his right eyebrow.
The impact of the hit left her husband with general body pains, authorities disclosed.
She then shouted for help from neighbours who helped to apprehend him and took him to Shampande police post for a sleep over.
And yesterday, the matter was reported to Choma Central Police Station where the suspect is currently detained.
Southern Province commanding officer, Auxensio Daka confirmed the incident and said the suspect was detained and later taken to the hospital where he was medically attended to and brought back into custody.
“A medical report form was issued to the survivor and she was later taken to Choma district hospital for medication. A warn and caution statement has been administered as police are still investigating the matter,” said Daka.
