POLICE in Southern Province are currently looking for a 41-year-old man of Pemba District who fled his home after defiling and committing incest with his 14-year-old daughter on four occasions in one month.
The man abrogated the principles that guide a father of being a protector, provider and guide to his children, especially for girls after he decided to see a ‘wife’ in his own teenage daughter.
It is reported that the 41 year old followed his daughter to the stream in Musengwa Village where they resided each time his wife, sent her to fetch water.
Once there, he would wait for her to return, and along the road, he would begin to beat her, drag her to the bush, and later have carnal knowledge of her.
He continued this behaviour which he started just last month, until he abused her four times on separate occasions in October.
But when the juvenile daughter could not bear it anymore, she decided to confide in the mother, whom she told everything that the father had been doing to her.
Agitated by the report she received, the concerned mother immediately rushed to Pemba Police Station to report the matter of incest.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka who confirmed the incident said upon receiving the report, police issued a medical form for the survivor to get medical help.
He said police are yet to arrest the culprit as he ran away from his home after the report was made.
“A manhunt has been launched to bring the suspect to book and police will provide further updates once he is arrested,” said Daka.
