THE Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has revealed that it will in the next two weeks start the recruitment process of 4,200 teachers.
TSC Chairperson Daphne Chimuka disclosed that the commission has already started with the upgrading and promoting of in-service teachers to create space for the incoming teachers.
Chimuka said further details on the recruitment shall be announced by the Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima.
“We have started the process of upgrading and promoting those who will leave the bottom positions, for those that we are recruiting, this should be done in a very short while. The process of upgrading those that are going into higher salary scales and those who are being promoted, confirmed in their promotion has already started.
“In the next two weeks, we will start the actual recruitment and I’m sure the minister of Education will soon come to you to announce when the recruitment will actually be completed and when the names will be published in the papers,” she revealed.
Last year, over 7000 teachers were recruited to work in public schools across the country.
