New husband perishes in accident, wife finds out day after searching for him

A NEWLY married man of Lusaka’s Mtendere East who was yet to enjoy his marriage with the woman of his dreams and probably be able to father his own children has tragically lost his life in a road traffic accident that happened in Lusaka’s Ibex Hill area.

27 year old David Sikazwe has become the fourth person that has died from the accident which claimed the lives of three people on the spot.

According to authorities, the accident occurred when the driver of a Toyota Hiace minibus bearing registration number BAJ 3856 with fleet number LSK 15183 lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed, causing the minibus to veer off the road to the left, overturning twice and halted against a wall fence.

And eye witness stated that the bus which was coming from Mtendere East and was headed to town before the accident.

Sikazwe was reportedly on his way to work when the accident occurred.

Sources have told Kalemba that the new wife started panicking after a day of not hearing from her husband who didn’t return home from work and couldn’t answer his phone.

This prompted her to report the matter to the police where she was later advised to go and check for unidentified bodies at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

Lo and behold, the wife got the shock of her life after seeing the man she thought she would grow old with, lying in the cold fridges of the dead.

According to the doctor that attended to the wife and her friends, the deceased was brought in unconscious at the hospital and was immediately put on oxygen and died the next morning.

The accident happened on Thursday and the family only got to learn of the death yesterday.

Sikazwe was a business man in Kulima Tower Station who has left behind a grieving wife and friends.

His friends and families in their messages of condolences shared on various social media platforms describing Sikazwe as a good young man.
