RESIDENTS of Kabangwe yesterday demonstrated bravery and unity as they stood up to a gang that had attempted to grab and share their land.
The alleged land grabbers, consisting of close to dozen muscular men stormed the area yesterday morning led by a man known as Sam or the Induna.
But before the gang could even start measuring the pieces of land, the residents quickly sprang into action, verifying the vehicle’s registration with the RTSA and discovering it belonged to a person, previously linked to land grabbing incidents in Mungule area
All hell, then broke loose in the peaceful outskirts of the capital city as altercation erupted.
The gang claimed to be acting on government orders, but couldn’t provide names.
Unable to stand the resistance from the residents, the mob left to fight another day.
In June 2024, Diamond TV carried a story in which one of people in the group was cited for leading a group of cadres that were grabbing land from private citizens in Mungule area.
