POPE Francis has assured President Hakainde Hichilema that he is praying for him.
This message was conveyed during the presentation of letters of credence by Zambia’s ambassador to the Holy See Macenje Mazoka.
In a statement issued by first secretary for press at the Zambian high commission in London Speedwell Mupuchi, Pope Francis asked Mazoka to convey his greetings and sentiments of esteem to President Hichilema, assuring him of his prayers.
The Holy Father also urged the ambassador to address pressing global issues, including forced migration, human trafficking and the effects of climate change particularly on the poorest and most vulnerable populations.
“Challenges should be addressed because they lead to global economic imbalances that contribute to loss of hope, especially among young people,” stated Pope Francis.
