A JOURNEY that began with great promise for Giland Musonda having left Zambia eight years ago to further his education in China, did not end according to plan.
Musonda who tragically passed away in China earlier this year was laid to rest yesterday at Nkana East Memorial Park in Kitwe.
It was a disheartening sight to behold – Instead of bringing accolades and pride to his family after completing his studies, only his lifeless body was returned to the mother land.
He was regarded as a diligent student and a source of pride for his family and community.
The student had been pursuing his studies in China since 2016 and died on February 6, 2024.
His body was repatriated to Zambia, allowing family and friends to bid their final farewells yesterday.
The somber ceremony began with a funeral Mass held at Saint Francis of Assisi – Wusakile Parish, officiated by Parish Priest Fr. Andrew Ngosa.
