SPECIAL Assistant to the President for Politics Levy Ngoma is demanding K5 million from Petauke Central member of parliament Emmanuel Banda, NDC leader Saboi Imboela and PEP leader Sean Tembo for libelous and defamatory statements made against him.

This is in a joint matter taken together with UPND deputy national youth chairperson for politics and mobilisation Trevor Mwiinde who is also demanding a five million Kwacha in damages.

Ngoma and Mwiinde made their demands through their lawyers Chanza Sikazwe and advocates, Friday Besa and associates and OMM Banda and company.

The duo also demanded for a full apology and retraction of the malicious, false and libellous defamatory statements made on the Facebook pages of Imboela and Tembo within 72 hours.

It is alleged that the trio accused Ngoma and Mwiinde together with State House chief communications specialist Clayson Hamasaka of being part of the abduction of Jay Jay Banda.

Meanwhile, Ngoma and Mwiinde logged in a formal complaint with police against Thomas Zgambo of Whistleblowers, Sakwiba Sikota, Saboi Imboela and Sean Tembo.

The lawyers, Chanza Sikazwe and Friday Besa stated that the two denied ever participating in the abduction of Banda.

“Mr Ngoma has been the subject of a lot of ridicule, a lot of falsehoods, wrong statements, painting him as being part and parcel of individuals that were allegedly involved in the abduction of Mr Emmanuel Banda.”

“We want to make it very clear that Mr Levy Ngoma did not in any way and at any time participate in the alleged abduction or otherwise of Mr Jay Jay Banda. Those that are peddling lies and falsehoods against him have injured his reputation and have brought him into scandal and ridicule. The whole point of him coming here is to ensure that his rights to a proper reputation is protected,” revealed Sikazwe.
