PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says the bible clearly states that a snake does not belong among people urging the country to be woke especially in a time where people are claiming to be snakes.

“You fear the snakes, me I’m a rancher, a snake doesn’t belong to people,” President Hichilema stated last night during the United Party for National Development (UPND) Copperbelt Fundraising dinner in Kitwe.

About two weeks ago former president Edgar Lungu refered to himself as a peaceful dove and sly snake while commenting that it would not take up to 2026 for Government to be removed.

President Hichilema said the previous Government wants to come back to power so that they could finish off the economy which they destroyed noting that he wants to grow the economy before he retires to the farm.

He stated that being in power for the UPND is a miracle because some people thought he would never be President.

“Many people thought we would never rule Zambia, who are you? They talked about it openly in a careless manner. Is this your country? Are you God to say those things?” President Hichilema questioned.

“They said they would never allow me to be President. You want to be in government so that you can finish off the country beyond what you did? So you can borrow more, so we can default again.”

He stated that the country was now peaceful recalling the days he would travel to the Copperbelt and be mistreated.

“Every single time I came to Copperbelt I would tell my wife, in case I don’t return, take care of the the children,” narrated Hichilema.

“It was as bad as that, there was no single trip I took here where there was no teargas.”

The Head of State promised the nation that 10 years from now, things will be different for the country noting that it will be in a better place.
