ENERGY Minister Peter Kapala has appointed James Banda as the new chairperson of the Energy Regulation Board (ERB), succeeding Reynolds Bowa who was dismissed earlier this month.
James Banda brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the vice chairperson of the ERB’s Board of Directors prior to his appointment.
With over 25 years of experience in the legal profession, Banda has specialised in Construction and Energy Law, and has gained both local and international recognition.
Banda is a former president of the Law Association of Zambia and has also led the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Lawyers Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Zambia Branch.
He is an advocate of all Superior Courts of Zambia, a qualified Arbitrator, and certified by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Additionally, he serves as a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court in Zambia.
